Faces of Art with Crockett Elementary! March 10 2016

Recently, we attended the NAMTA Art Materials World Tradeshow in Houston, Texas (Lots of fun!). Just prior to our trip, we read a news article that spoke about a large budget deficit affecting the fine arts magnet schools in the area. We decided that this was a great opportunity to do some good and have some fun! On Monday, March 7th, 2016 Twisted Boards bused 29 kids from Houston's own Crockett Elementary School, a fine arts magnet school to the George Brown Convention Center. Claudia Elizondo, the school's art teacher had worked with the kids for two weeks before to help the kids design superhero masks that they wanted to make and trying different techniques with the boards. When the kids arrived, they were brought to a room that was set up with Twisted Boards, and a ton of art supplies donated by Staedtler and Marvy Uchida! The kids made their superhero masks which they all got to keep and then we made a large donation of art supplies and Twisted Boards to the school for their program! It was a VERY fun event with lots of laughs and creativity. Can't wait to do it again! Cheers!
